Muʿīd al-Niʿam wa Mubīd al-Niqam by Imam Tāj al Dīn al Subkī, was written in response to a question he was asked about whether a lost favour, whether Dínī or Dunyawī, can be regained. He uses that as a starting point to reflect on why blessings are preserved or lost in the first place.
Then, drawing on his experience as a Qādī and senior scholar in the Mamluk period, Imam al-Subkī widens the discussion to include public offices, professions, and many other societal or administrative roles, and the potential failures he saw attached to them.
